Gmail stopped syncing

I haven't had any problems until last night. My gmail used to sync instantly, now I am having to go in and manually pull it up. This is really frustrating, I haven't changed any settings.is there a way to fix this?

I had the same thing happen to me this morning when I checked my gmail on my computer I had 7 messages that my phone never notified me about. I checked the auto sync on my phone and it was on. I just sent a test email to my gmail account with my phone next to me and it just beeped so it is working again. Maybe it was a issue with google last night.

Either an issue with google last night ... or did you, by any chance, stop Gtalk Services?

Mine stopped on 6/17 around 3pm EST.

I reset my phone and manual synced it when I noticed it. This was about 5. From that point on its been auto syncing properly.

mine was also not syncing over night. just rebooted this morning and it has been fine since.

if you still have problems...you could always try doing a profile update.

What is a profile update? And how do you do it?

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but my experience with gmail.com lately has been slow itself. I wonder if there is just a problem on googles side causing some of these syncing problems?

menu > settings > system updates > update profile

its meant to fix internet issues, etc.

but it fixed my sync issue i had last week with gmail

That didn't work. I have gmail synced under settings, this is really frustrating. Any other suggestions? Appreciate any help I can get

^ try manually syncing. then see if it starts to auto sync like before....

^^if that doesnt do it...the only other thing i can think of would be to do a hard reset.

I stopped getting the "new mail" notifications on the envelope (the number of new messages). I still get notified on the drawer. Does anybody know how to get the number notification back? I did the update and it hasn't resolved it.
