Gmail sync problem

In the last week or so I rarely receive emails to my phone on gmail app, only when I sync manually I receive them.
Same goes for calendar events, they are not being synced with web interface only when I choose to sync manually.

I didn't make any changes to my phone in the last week, and also the auto sync is checked.

i tried clearing the cache, reboot the phone, took out the battery for 1 minute.

Anyone with the same problem?

Any advise?

How much internal memory is there left on your phone? I've seen Gmail stop syncing when there is less than about 15MB left.

Thanks but I have 26MB...
This morning it is working ok.

I guess this is gmail server problem, but as it is impossible to ask gmail directly then I would like to know if others are having the same issue. Otherwise, there is no way gmail will know about it.

i find if i get 2 emails in the space of a few minutes, then the second email does not notify me.

I had a major sync issue just last week and I know of some others who did as well, I believe it might off been a screw up in the latest release last week that they put out...a simple uninstall and reinstall seemed to clear it for me then..touch wood, I haven't had any issues so far again lol

My sync problems began before I updated the gmail app (if that's what you mean), and it continued after the update.
So I guess this is not the problem.
I guess there are others with the same problem, so it is/was probably only gmail server problem.

Did you uncheck the "notify once" box?
Setting -> choose your account -> Labels to notify -> Inbox -> Notify once.

yep, unticked. the email will then come through with the 3rd one, whenever that may be.

After 2 working days, now again no push!!!
If I wanted this feature then I would have go for blackberry...

I do think this is a google issue on a server end or app end rather than a device problem, as I know of a wildfire s that is also now having this weirdness....notifications for a few days then nothing for another couple days...then bing! notifications again...odd
