Help GMail unread notification counter

I've seen apps on Play Store to show the unread email counter on the GMail icon, but I was wondering if there is any way to do this without the need to install a 3rd party app (I'm on TouchWiz)

Edit: Just installed one of them, and it still isnt showing the counter. It only appears on its own widget icon, and not on the GMail icon itself, which is what I need, as you can't add widgets to the dock bar.

Apex launcher + Apex notifier does this, but not sure you're looking to use a third party launcher.

I don't think any "third party" apps can display counts on the touchwiz dock bar. its locked down by Samsung :9
