Gmail updates of every posting?

I have had a problem with gmail updates every time someone replies to a forum on which I previously posted. That would be okay on a rather obscure topic which might receive a handful of replies. But on a hot topic like Froyo updates or the like it is driving me crazy with dozens of gmail updates each day.

So my question is: How can I turn off this feature on popular topics so that I don't have to respond to bunches of e-mail updates?

It sounds like you are subscribing to the posts that you post in. When you subscribe you should see some options for getting email updates. You can opt to not receive them at all or only 1x a day (I think).
