Gmail version on ICS

Hi there,

just purchased Samsung Galaxy S3 which is installed with Gmail version 4.0.5. I really can't stand the new version of Gmail and would love to revert to a pre ICS version of Gmail 2.3.4 or 2.3.5. I have deleted gmail 4.0.5 and attempted to install 2.3.4 and 2.3.5, but get an error when I try to open the app..

Any thoughts?

I too would like to revert. I like some of the new features but some of things they took away are deal breakers for me. The biggest is the size of the preview on attached images. WAY too small. I have several cameras set up to email me 5 stills upon motion and with the older version it was easy to see if there was something that warranted further investigation. I could easily tell if there was a person, a car or just a bug/shadow triggering the alarm. Now, the thumbnails are so small that I have to open images all the damn time to see if it's something I should be concerned about or not. Doesn't sound like a big deal but when you do it dozens of times every single day it gets annoying real quick. I'm not sure why they decided to do that because it's not like phone displays are getting any smaller these days so there's really no reason for it. If it's to save on data then they need to give an option to return back to full size images for users like us who have Sprint w/unlimited data.

Yes, they appear to shrunk the available space for the icons...what was wrong with the longpress context menus? Why is the world obsessed with increasing the amount of clicks we have to use?
