Gmail won't start

Have Android 9 on tablet. Gmail won't open. Samsung phone has no problem. Windows 10 no problem. Anyone else see this problem?

When you state, "...Gmail won't open" is this a matter where the Gmail app won't start? Or is it instead a matter where you cannot access your Gmail account?

If the former and you're using a different email app to access your Gmail account, which app is it?
If the latter, just as test have you tried accessing your Gmail account using the webmail interface? (of if so, a different browser app?)

When I push the Gmail app icon as I normally do, I see only a blank screen.

I am using the Gmail to access my Gmail. I have always done it like that, now it doesn't work. I updated the app and restarted the tablet repeatedly.

OK, try going into your tablet's Settings >> Apps menu, find the Gmail app listing and tap on it to open that, then tap on 'Force stop', and then find the 'Clear cache' button and tap on that. Now try to see if the Gmail app will start up again.

If not, what kind of tablet is it and which version of Android is it running?

It is a Galaxy Tab 8" running Android 9

On my Samsung tablet, I do have a build in app, I use all the time, for deleting mutlipule of email called "Email" But I labled it and, I can now delete them all with just a touch instead of going through several at a time, when I am not on my comp.
