Help GMail?

I am using the San Fransisco and using Wi-Fi to access the Internet (not got Internet bolt on as yet) Using GoogleMail I can send no probs receiving I have to refresh to get new Mail, is there any way I am able to receive EMail automatically? Or do I have to log into GoogleMail on a PC Or Mac to set this up?

I think you have to log onto your account on ya puter and set up your phone number. I think you do it through google calender.
