GN2 phone compared GN10.1?

Hi,

I've had a Note 10.1 wifi version for 5 months and it's changed the way I work and do loads of other things.

To improve this experience I'd want internet connectivity when away from wifi, want a smaller version that I can carry in coat/jeans pocket and preferably replace my work provided blackberry.
So the Note 2 is on firmly on my shopping list to do the above and also access/sync S-note docs that I have done on the 10.1 and backed up in a cloud.
I am looking at a 3G version as I get discount from Virgin Media who don't have 4G yet.

Is the note2 3G going to make me happy? What do you think? Do the 2 devices vary much?

Thanks
Chris

If you've loved your experience with the Note 10.1, I don't think there's a doubt in my mind that you'd love the Note 2. The Note 2 processor is clocked at 1.6, rather than the 1.4 on the Note 10.1, but just to have a miniature sized experience "on the go" is worth it, IMO.

This is the same reason I plan on getting the Note 8.0, when it's released soon. I've been having no problems taking notes using my Note 2, but to have a slightly bigger "memo" pad would make things so much easier for me in my day-to-day work. On top of that, I could get rid of all the scratch paper and memo pads.

I have a Note 2 and I also have a GNote10. I think both are great and have their uses but....
I have found I use my GNote10 less now that I have the Note 2 and I find that when I write on the GNote10 I see the dots of the screen a little too much. This is because I've gotten used to writing on the higher resolution of the Note 2 with a higher ppi which is so good it looks like real hand writing with ink. Of course there is much more room on the GNote10 so when I want to write more than would work for a 3x5 note pad I use the Gnote10.

I have both as well. But my use is different. When at home the Note 2 is not in use. I like the bigger real estate of the tab over the phone. I have no complaints owning the any of them. The Note 10.1 being able to open 5 windows at once is much nicer to work with as well. ;)

donec, the Note 2 has 1280x720 resolution. How is that higher than a Note 10.1 1280x800 resolution? LOL.

By squeezing the resolution down into a much smaller area it increases the ppi (pixels per inch) making for a much sharper screen/display/image.

I also have both and use the 10.1 for a couple of hours straight. It is very convenient to do the same work on both devices. Between the ability to work with Documents To Go, Office Suite. Handbase, Lecture Notes, the convenience becomes a requirement.

Yep. Higher PPI. But not higher resolution. Both different things. Squeezing more pixels per inch gives a sharper image but is negated by distance of viewing. There are optimal viewing distances for screen sizes and resolutions. Probably why the Note 10.1's screen doesn't bother me as much.

Great to hear from people using both devices, thats given me the reassurance it's the right move.

Thanks to all of you.

Chris
