I had an Otterbox on mine, and decided to have my GNex go naked for the past few weeks. Almost zero change in signal performance. It may cause some slight signal attenuation, but most cases are thin plastic or rubber so it will be minimal and unnoticeable. Your body causes more signal issues, than anything.

Literally, the issue with the Gnex is just bad radios, we have had bad ones since day one...we get drops in signal and such.
Putting on a case I have found does nothing with how well my phone receives signal.
