No it doesn't. It may be as good as Gorilla Glass that is to be determined

It has "fortified glass." Gorilla Glass is just a Corning product name. Someone in the UK already took a key to the GNex and showed that it didn't scratch. Nothing to worry about.

don't really care if it's gorilla glass or not, as long as it holds up.

No Gorilla glass. Yes it can get scratched. Seen it myself. Get a screen protector with this phone.

I believe keys are too soft to scratch glass. So that wouldn't be a good example. Now, if the Nexus survived a hammer, I'd be more than impressed

It's a Gorilla Glass type of equivalent. The iPhone doesn't technically have Gorilla Glass (at least not disclosed) but it really does.
