GO keyboard questions

Sahri

Newbie
I recently installed GO keyboard on my new phone and it works fabulously, save for a few minor things. I loved using auto-insert punctuation (with two spaces) on my older phone and it has it available for this phone as well, but since I didn't like the samsung keyboard of this device very well I'm using go keyboard but strangely enough I can't use it with go keyboard. Which setting in GO keyboard do I need to change to make it work?

Go Keyboard sucks bigtime. Get Swype or Swiftkey.

EDIT: I can't seem to find the poll thread, but Swype and Swiftkey ran away as clear winners.

Lol, it's Swiftkey that sucks big time. It didn't run nearly as smoothly as GO keyboard does. And don't even get me started on Swype. I hated it from day 1. I always hold my phone in landscape mode when I'm texting and Apping so Swype is pretty much useless to me.
And btw, did I ask for alternate keyboard apps? No, I asked for help with my current keyboard app.

Well, that's odd, because Go Keyboard is the one that lagged on practically every phone/tablet I used (and these aren't low end ones with too weak hardware). Plus prediction sucked in my case. And it never gets in "best keyboards" polls for some reason. And the Go Dev team are in pretty big issues nowadays, since some of their apps started asking for unnecessary permissions and doing push ads and full screen ads (came with latest update for Go SMS and Launcher).

Because Go doesn't have that option anywhere I can find (at least) and the only way is a different keyboard?

I never use word prediction because of bad experiences so GO keyboard was the app for me. With Swiftkey I made TONS of typos (I touch the U, he registers an I) and I couldn't even type at a high pace because it didn't register every stroke if I tried. GO keyboard doesn't lag for me at all and registers every stroke I make. Easy choice, no? But can you edit the size of the keys in landscape mode with Swiftkey? The keys just weren't big enough for me which resulted in those typos.

For Swiftkey yes you can edit the size of keys. There's 3 sizes. It defaults to small I think. I made mine Large. Or you can try Swiftkey Tablet on your phone. I'm actually using that because keys are bigger than on normal Swiftkey if I remember correctly. Plus it's only one purchase for both tablet and phone instead of two. And oh yeah, not sure if they removed old Swiftkey but make sure you are downloading the newest Swiftkey. I seem to remember that old Swiftkey and Swiftkey 3(or whatever the latest is) coexisted in the play store.

Prediction sucks at first but both Swiftkey and Swype learns as you use it more often. I actually now type faster with it, since any typo's I made, they usually have the word I was actually trying to type as one of the predictions. There's one month trials of either anyway, so there's no harm in trying. The double space for a period is disabled in Swiftkey by default since space enters a prediction. You have to enable it in Advanced Settings.

My sister preferred Perfect Keyboard. If I remember correctly it also had the double tap to get a period.

Trying Perfect Keyboard now.

But buying apps is not an option for the time being until the gift cards are available in my country and I utterly REFUSE to buy a creditcard, be it prepaid or normal.

EDIT: Perfect Keyboard it is <3 Not overlysensitive, catches on with my typing speed, absolutely NO lag at all :D Thanks for the tip <3
