GO Launcher dock bar....seems extra "elastic" after update...

Hey all,

I updated GO Launcher on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus a few days ago. Since then, it seems that the home screen dock bar has a ton of elasticity to it and takes nearly a full-screen swipe to get it to scroll over to the next dock. There aren't any settings to adjust either.

Has anyone else noticed this? It's quite hard to ignore, surprisingly.

Also, does anyone else wish that there was an option in GO Launcher where hitting the home key would also snap the bottom dock bar back to the home position? I'm shocked that this is not already an option.

Thanks,

Matt!

1. No, A swipe between 2 icons on my phone is enough to get the dock sliding.

2. Nah, I'd rather keep it this way. Sometimes I need something from the dock on a separate part, and something in my default screen so home button makes it easy.

While we're on the subject, why does the update insist on deleting the old version? Last time I did that, my folders and such went away and I had to spend an annoying amount of time redoing them.

Have never encountered having to do that. On my phone and my sister's phone, none of the customizations we make are affected by updates to Go Launcher.

Why are you getting Go Launcher from the Amazon App Store? The one in Google Play gets more updates more often anyway AFAIK, plus its completely free, so there's no reason to get it from a third party app store.

Because if I recall correctly, it was free that day :), and at this point, I'm kind of stuck, since I'm quite reluctant to spend an hour or more rebuilding my folders AGAIN if I switch sources. If you have a suggestion that allows me to preserve settings and such while making that switch, I'm listening.

But Go Launcher EX is free all the time. It was never a paid app in the Google Market. I say, uninstall Go, install it from Google Play Store. You'll never experience that uninstall reinstall problem again. Its probably tied to the fact that its updating via Amazon Market, not Google.

EDIT: There's a backup Go Launcher Settings function in the preferences section.

OK, if there's a way to back up current settings and restore to a new install, I'm there. Just didn't want to spend all that time and hassle getting set up all over again.

Seanette,

The backup function can be found under the preferences tab. It is a flawless backup EXCEPT it cannot restore widgets. When you restore , you'll see a place holder where the widget once was. Not a big deal for most.

Hope this helps,

Matt!

YOUR best bet would be uninstall then d/load from play and take the time to reset folders and such this will ensure a clean and flawless experience with no conflicts with updates.
