I use several of the "GO" apps and they all work great with Gingerbread. I recomment GO Launcher EX as it's easily customizable and very solid. It's updated frequently, so you'll need to select it as the default when prompted and I have mine set to update automatically.
One of the great features is that you can easily kill a running task (ie: music player) from the app drawer. All you have to do is open the app drawer using the normal button. The drawer has tabs at the top for "All", "Recent" and "Running". Just tap the "Running" tab, then tap the icon for the process you want to kill or stop. Then, choose "close" from the choices. I'd never go back to the native launcher after using this one.
I also use several other GO apps such as GO Contacts, GO Dialer and GO SMS PRO. These are all FREE and Ad FREE apps that work solid and are constantly updated. Under Gingerbread, they all work great. - Markc
