Go Live Icon not appearing on Facebook

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post about this. If not, I apologise.

I cannot find the Go Live icon on the Facebook Android app. It is supposed to appear when you add a new status, but it is not available. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app, but that has not worked.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?

I'm not really sure as I don't use fb, but maybe the new feature comes in an app update? Maybe you'll see an update in the play store within a few days.
 
This may be unrelated to your problem, but just yesterday I found that all text (apart from some 'headings' and the pictures) had disappeared from Facebook. Strange.

I removed the Facebook app and then downloaded it again. Now works properly. I suppose it's a bit like the ubiquitous corrective measure for many things: turn it off and then on again!
 
Thanks for your replies. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and also wiped the cache partition, but this still hasn't worked.

I logged on to Facebook using a friend's LG G5 phone and the option appeared in my status screen. I think I am missing a setting from my Nexus 5. I just can't seem to figure it out.
 
For some reason, this feature hasn't rolled out to everyone. It's not related to any updates like Marshmallow or anything like that.

I have the feature but don't use it. I really don't know how or why I got it. Strange.
 
The thing that I find strange is that it didn't appear on my Nexus 5 phone, but did appear on my friends LG G5. I logged into Facebook using his phone and it was there to use.

Updates usually roll out in waves though. Not everyone gets the update at exactly the same time. How long has the update been out?
 
I'm not sure how long the update has been out. My friend signed into Facebook on my phone and he could see the icon on his account. I don't know why it doesn't show for me on my Nexus 5.
 
I'm sure they will roll it out in different regions at a time. Every facebook user will eventually get it.

Facebook is one of the most used (if not THE most used) apps on the planet. Plus, their Android app is poorly coded so they maybe working out some bugs. I don't know the answer but it's taking a long time.
