Help go off line in facebook app

does anyone know how to go offline on facebook when using the facebook app , i dont want to log out of the face book app because then it wont auto sync but i just want to know how to go offline , many thanks , dave

if you're hoping to just 'go offline' so that people don't pop up on chat then you can go onto the chat menu, and press the menu button on your phone (the touch key one with three lines' and it comes up so that you can go offline.
if you are then hoping to go back online, you just click the chat menu and it will automatically put you back online and look for other contacts online.
