go sms & go sms emoji??

For those that use GO SMS and GO Emoji.........can you tell me how to get the emojis to work? I have been looking around in the settings and can't seem to find it. I'm sure i'm missing something.

When you open go sms on the bottom right there is a round face click it once you click it the others will show up next to it.
