Go SMS Pro - MMS/Picture/Chat problem?

Hi folks,

first post here, rather fresh to Android system, but managed so far and things works smoothly Yet, one hickup has emerged with my favorite app till now, and that is the GO SMS Pro.

So to try to narrow the problem, here is what works fine:

In the private box area, I have one private thread and pictures and everything works like a charm, on both phones (Galaxy S2 & Xperia ray).

- Then, to save some money, we sms and MMS alot, we switched to "Go SMS chat" and enabled it. Then, all the pictures (MMS) were gone, including the text that came with them, removed from the thread (on both phones).
- Ok, I've googled alot to solve this problem, send mail quite a few times to Go group but nothing so far.
- Then, I moved the thread out of the private box area, and THEN all the pictures (MMS including txt) were showing..
- Moved it back, gone again.
- Also, sending and recieveing is not possible. Lets say I make one ready to send, it apperantly does but other side doesent get the MMS and it is gone from the thread (also on my og the other sides).
- We both tried to turn of the Go SMS chat, to get back to normal mode (SMS & MMS), but the problem still is there.
- Actually, uninstalling and reinstalling helps, but then again we must NOT turn on the Go SMS chat, then the problem will come back.

So, alot of information here, but has anyone seen anything like it, experienced or solved it?

All help is apriciated, I actually concider moving to Handcent because of this annoyance. Anyone have info on which of theese that is the best for this purpose?

I haven't used handcent in a long time, I use GO. When I switched to GO it had a lot more features than handcent, but it looks like handcent has added a lot since then. I just checked and it doesn't look like handcent includes the chat option like you are trying to use with GO.

I personally don't use chat, I just wanted to let you know handcent may not support that option at all.

However, to the problem again.
- I've tried for some hours now, and the thing is that inside private box, it show a space in the thread where the MMS should have been.
- And, the funny part is still there, if the thread is moved out of the private box, everything is back to normal.
- This happens to only persons that their number is "tagged" as GO SMS chat members, even if I or them or both is logged of the service. Others that is not Go SMS chat tagged users, everything is fine.

Strange, and very annoying when I have to move forinstance a thread on 2000+ sms+mms back and forth to see what the pictures look like

EDIT: Both phones operates lates firmware and android updates, and GO SMS is @ version 4.21 (latest)

Well i came to this site to see if anyone else was having an issue w/ their MMS with GO SMS PRO. Last week a friend sent me a mms (pic text) and it had a download button. So i hit D/L button and didn't d/l Anything but give me a expiration date of when the picture that i never got will be deleted!! :-(.... So i was wondering if anyone else is having an mms issues too with GO SMS PRO (free version)??? And if anyone could help me plz!! I've also have had this app since early Dec when i got the phone which is Samsung captivate 2.2 galaxy S...... Thank u kindly

I have a Captivate to and had the same problem. Was receiving SMS through both messaging services (original couldn't be disabled???) and MMS wouldn't DL to EITHER service. I fixed the SMS problem but still no pics. Even after uninstalling all the Go software I wasn't able to receive MMS messages. Long story short I had 2 have the techy at ATT do a flash reset of my entire system. Guy said the problem comes from the default messaging software. Didn't tell me how to solve the issue but since I already lost all the data on my phone I'm gonna try DL'n Go again uninstalling original software. Might work? I'll let you know and please do the same if you get it working. Otherwise guess I'll have the guy reset my phone again when I screw it up
