GO SMS Pro Notification light problem

I just downloaded this app ( GO SMS PRO ) for my S3 and now when i receive a message the led notification light stays on and doesn't blink anymore. Any way to fix this? I am in North America on AT&T if that matters. Thanks.
P.S. I even tried to disable notification on stock app but it didn't fix the problem. Thanks...

There are LED settings in GO SMS. Did you check those?

No third party messenger app works with the S3's LED light yet. I contacted Handcent about it and they are supposed to be releasing a version that fixes this problem by tomorrow...hope it's true.

This is untrue as the LED works fine for me with GoSMS.

Handcent is working for me?

Yahoo Mail is not flashing though.

Same things happen to me. I have my GoSMS set up to blink cyan, and instead it just stays on pink. Not sure what do to differently...

I'm glad Handcent is working on this. I just tried working it out myself, but it won't blink and the color settings are way off.

Fingers crossed...

was just about to make a thread about this.... im having problems with my led light.. it stays on for everything ( yahoo mail, and messages) i have go pro sms... i hope there's an update for this coming soon......

For those of you who have it working. Are you on the US version or international? Seems like true US models have more problems than the international ones.

Have you lot tried ChompSMS? Works perfectly :-) just make sure you disable notifications for the built in SMS when using a third part app one instead as it will otherwise display notifications twice.

Also with ChompSMS you can change the colour of the flashing led when you get a text, mines on magenta ;-)

so, is this a hardware problem than?? nothing blinks for me at all....

(vzw model)

Mines international, but try a firmware update or factory reset. It seems in a lot of cases you pretty mnuch should open the box, factory reset the phone before you get too far setting it up to begin with. From what i've read, a factory reset or firmware update can solve a buunch of varied issues.

My notification lights are solid even with the default applications. Heck, even the red charging light is solid. I've seen some notifications pulsate, but most of them are just solid.

LOL, I have no idea how to configure the LED. I assume it's like when I had my HTC Desire, it's configured by the apps that use it. However, my Go SMS - it does look I can change the color, but I don't think it flashes for a text msg. I've definitely seen it flash blue for other notifications though.

So far, whenever I see any light and any flashing (or no flashing), i just check the phone bc I have no idea what it's notifying me of. I'm sure one day I'll get it straight.

There's a great app called LightFlow which lets you change the colors of different application's notification leds. I have all my apps color coded so I know exactly what is trying to get my attention.

Haven't tried it on the S3 yet, but I imagine it's fine.

Got my VZW S3 a few days ago and GOSMS LED doesn't work for me either. Gmail blinks blue fine, charging it stays solid Red, as it should but text's don't work at all. Bummed out, I hope GOSMS releases and update. I tried Lightflow, and that didn't work for me either. My Gmail LED was Green, and I had no email and if I turned the screen off it would stay solid Green.

Here's what I've found.

Stock apps (messaging/gmail/missed call) blink the LED. 3rd party apps only have solid LED.

LED color mappings on the GS3 are non-standard. See blog post from Lightflow developer.

In GoSMS, if I select blue, I get pink, if I select red, I get green.

I just played around with K9 as well, which lets you pick the color. Green got me pink and pink got me orange.

Both GoSMS and K9 also allow you to control blink/not blink. The GS3 keeps the light solid regarding of the app settings.

Either they'll be a GS3 update or the apps are going to have to figure this out slowly and update.

I guess I can use Light Flow to rectify the situation (since I am rooted, which is required for it to function properly on the GS3), but I'm not really sure I want to do that.

I'm a little worried regarding potential Light Flow battery usage and how intrusive (seemingly hooks into a lot of different thing) it could be.

Maybe I'll just get the free version (which doesn't support apps I need it to support) and play around with it for a while and see or just spring for the $2.49 for the paid version.

Hmm, use GO SMS and get blinking yellowish LED on receive. Not tweaked anything so just standard settings. For info in the UK.

good post... thanks!.... i decided to just disable led notifications until further notice of an update or something

Having the same issue. No third party sms app blinks for me. It stays as a solid color. Also colors incorrect when you choose a specific color. Tmobile US GS3.

It is well known by now that the NON-International versions (AT&T i know for sure) do not work well/correctly with 3rd party notifications apps such as lightflow.. I would imagine the same for verizon and sprint. But AT&T we know for sure.
