Go SMS Pro Received Text Timestamp While Powered Off

Hello. I'm a new Android user currently using Go SMS Pro as my default texting application. I've noticed that when my phone is off, the timestamp of newly received messages is the time I received the message, rather than the time the message was sent. Is there any way to see the time a text was sent? I've learned that this is possible by long-pressing a message on Handcent. Is it possible to see the time a text was sent on Go SMS as well?

Also, stupid question for a forum newbie, but how do you delete a post? I see an edit button but no delete button.

I'm almost positive the timestamp comes from your carrier, not the messaging app

I think that timestamps do stem from the carrier. It's just that if someone sends a message around noon while my phone is off, turning out back on at 4 will show a timestamp of 4 rather than 12, the time the message was sent. I'm wondering if there is any way of seeing the time a text was sent rather than when it was received.

I know that Handcent can show this time if you long press and click "View Message Details" upon which it will show you the time the message was sent according tho carrier data. I was wondering if something similar was possible on Go SMS Pro.

You could email the developer and ask them is this feature available and if not could they consider it for a future update?

This is an Android problem and one that's been reported since 2008:

Issue 2989 - android - Sent time in received SMS is receipt time of SMS, not sent time. - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting

Quite ridiculous at this point and it shows that Google, once again, gets it right on the intent but not the actual delivery of a product (like Gmail going so long without even a hint of a decent contact list).
