It is Google's answer to Facebook and Twitter. Google's own social networking site, you can make different circles and then you can add people to your circles which you want to follow and they may add you back, so similar to Twitter in this way.

Google is always ever expanding everything they do and personally i think they put a lot of time and effort into Google+, it's just sad that we are at a time where people are too lazy to even just try Google+ to see if they like it. Everyone just sticks with Facebook because everyone is already on it.
I'm not hating on Facebook, it's just the integration of Google+ into your Android phone is amazing and flawless, and just makes everything so easy. Like instantly uploading all of your pics into a hidden album, waiting for you to post them on your wall. Personally i like Google+ because its easier to use, and honestly lovely to look at. I wish people would make the switch, Facebook just chugs on my phone and isn't smooth like G+

I don't think it's laziness, I think it has more to do with updating more that one social network site. A lot of people have to balance having a Facebook and Twitter account. Throwing a third account and you're spending your day updating and not working.
The early Moto droid phones from Verizon had a social interface widget that would allow you to update Twitter and Facebook at the same time. If you add Google+ then I'd be using all three. If anyone knows of a similar widget, then I'm all ears...

I guess i just really like it because it integrates with my phone now, and since google doesnt like facebook it is just a lot easier to keep up with it than facebook, and i totally understand where you're coming from with the social networking sites. I just think the overall experience of G+ would be better than Facebook

I really want to use, and I do have an acount, but I eally don't understand how G+ works. I'm not a dumb person, and if I take the time study it, I'll get there. But I'm sure there are people like me that are standing in the door way, scratching our heads, and wondering what that thing in the center of the room with the big G+ on it really is...

There's really hardly any difference from the way Google+ works and Facebook. Lists are equivalent to Circles, and that's about it. I haven't able to explore options on anything similar to "groups" on Facebook since I don't have many friends on G+.
