Root Going between MIUI and CM7 -- how?

I'm currently on MIUI 1.9.30, and I'm having FC issues with my contacts. This happened after I flashed 1.10.7 without SBFing first (one of the threads said it was ok to do it that way before merging with the other thread telling you to SBF first)... So, I've flashed back to 1.9.30 and it's still happening.

What's the easiest way for me to get to CM7 and try that out?

The only reason I don't want to SBF is because I'll be at work for a while and can't SBF to reset everything.

You can flash back and forth between the 2 as long as you're flashing within the same kernel. You can go Froyo MIUI to Froyo CM7 or GB MIUI to GB CM7. Just make sure you wipe data/cache before you flash.

Download the current version of RevNumbers CM4DX here http://revnumbers.synik4l.net/CM4DX-GB-20111006b2.zip and put it on your sd card. Get into recovery and wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. Install the CM7 zip. Reboot. Enjoy! Here's a link to the instructions over at RootzWiki [HOW-TO] Installing CM4DX or CM4DXGB.

I just want to make sure, so let's play newb here...

.602 is GB kernel, right?

So, if I root and install D2 bootstrap and then boot into CWM, I can flash the Rev version of CM7, right?

Yes, it is GB

yes you can, then just do a nandroid once you get it setup the way you like and flash miui (wiping data/cache) and do a nandroid of that once you have it setup and then you can restore back and forth. :)
 
I SBF'd to .602 and then flashed MIUI DefyX 1.10.7 and still had the issues with my contacts. I wiped data/cache/dalvik, too.

Trying out CM7.1 for the first time now. Not as sexy, but man, it's fast! :)
