Going into widgets crashes TouchWiz home

Every time I go into my widgets to try to add widgets my phone freezes for a second then gives the crash message: Unfortunately, TouchWiz home has stopped, then it sends me to my "recent tabs menu" (it's alternative for the home screen) if I press home it brings me to a temporary wiped home. Is this a common problem and how do I fix it?

Try going into your Settings >> Apps menu, find the TouchWiz app and open it, tap on 'Force stop' then find 'Clear cache', and restart your phone.
Which version of Android is your J3 running?

I'll try what you told me to do. I'll edit if it works or not


Edit: no it did not work

Try the same thing as before but instead of 'Clear cache' use 'Clear data' instead, and then be sure to restart your phone.
