Root Goldencard storage

I am new in Anderoid.
-for a Desire today I,ve made a goldencard on a 16gb sdhc ,
can i use it as a memorycard on my phone.If so what changes it makes to my phone.( I belived golden card is a spare card to be utilised in case of any damage to phone to rescue the device).

-next i am going to root my phone using online methode, does it wipe out the existing 2.2 anderiod software on my phone or I can keep the same setting and software after rooting is done.

-after rooting can I get software update from HTC ?

-my phone bootloader is 93. which hboot link shall i use?

1. Gold card can be used as your normal card
2. Rooting doesn't wipe the phone but flashing a new ROM will

can i switch the golden card to an ordinary card at any time.
having a goldencard INSIDE can I get ota updates from HTC.

Yes you can switch cards at anytime. You will need your goldcard for any ota updates from htc. DO NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! do ota updates if you are rooted, it will mess up your phone.

You can switch but there's no point. Just use your normal card as your gold card and leave it in the phone

And as I said before, No you can't get updates from HTC if you're rooted. It'll screw your phone up

I think its good advice (it certainly benefited me), to keep the email image that you received of you golden cards boot sector. which makes it much easier to make another card, just in case something happens.
