I'm in a good 3G area. Seldom get 3G speeds. How do I fix this? Rooted, CM7.1 & latest radio.

Call Verizon and tell them to boost the bandwidth in your area or break any Verizon smartphone you see someone else using.

Dialing *228 may help but doubtful

that is really the only thing you can do, you can't control verizon's network speed.

If you have good signal and slow speed, it means the network is overloaded. Only so much bandwidth to go around, the more users, the slower your connection.
