Good air conditioner

Hey guys, could any of you recommend a good air conditioner? Preferably less than about $500. My room is about 18Lx16Wx10H ft.(I may be exaggerating) and I have casement windows (-___-) so I can't get the "usual" ACs. I saw a commercial for ones that you put on a wall, on top of a door or something, I think it was a Mitsubishi.

Any help is appreciated :)

So if you can't have a window mounted A/C due to type of windows in your place. You could always have a wall mounted unit, if it's only one room you want to A/C.

This is similar to what my neighbour has. Small unobtrusive indoor unit, hoses go through a hole in the wall. All the main gubbins, fans, compressors and things are in a box fixed to the outside wall.

We have a Mitsubishi (resembling the unit in the picture above) in the basement where I work. I am not sure why, as we have central air. Perhaps it has been around since before we got central air, but the unit doesn't look old.

dude do u have a Menards by where you live? you can get one that will EASILY cool that space for 99-200 bux. i got my GE ac unit there last year

You're right. I was looking at it wrong I guess (not sure how that's even possible LOL). You guys seem to have a couple Home Depots though. I see some window units for about $150. What are the dimensions of your window anyway?

I'd say 4 ft high and 2.5 ft wide, but I have to remind you that these are casements

Costco has a unit that sits on the floor and has duct hoses that go out the window to vent the heat out side. No idea how much $ though. I imagine other places have similar units.
