I just got the Motorola Triumph and am looking for a way to really backup the contact list in case of a disaster so you can import it back with everything identical to what you had. I don't mind doing the initial setup for each, I don't switch phones that often, but I do mind losing information in each contact.
After clearing up a mess with syncing with Google (I ended up with double entries for every contact), I imported the contacts again from a recent backup (used export from the phones). However any special incoming ringtone was missing, option to send directly to voicemail was missing, some contacts were auto-merged (such as "Jenny" and "Jennifer") so I had to split them, and custom number and address info had been changed (the few instances it kept the info, it was changed to ll caps, but mostly just defaulted to "home" so every contact had to be checked and corrected).
Is there any app, even a paid app, that will import your list back identically as you originally had it including special ringtones on incoming calls and custom entries?
I'm not 100% sure I'm keeping the phone yet. I love the options on the phone, but the lack of bars at times, even when outdoors, worries me as to how often it's going to drop calls. I had an LG Rumor Touch, which was bad at times, but this phone seems even worse. I'm with Virgin but in a major city.
Thanks for any advice.
