Good HeadPhones/EarBuds For My Note 3?

Like i said in my first topics on this forum i switched from iPhone to a note 3. I loved the remote the iPhone had to switch songs and volume just from the headphone. Since the note dint came with Headphone i want to buy something better than the Samsung stock headphone/ear buds with a remote. Something between $40 and $80 if possible. White ones, good quality and 100% working with the note 3 ;)

I have a lot of ear buds from different companies, Bose, Sony, Jaybirds, Samsung and Skullcandy. Jaybirds very expensive but they are bluetooth ear buds. Out of all of these ear buds I will say the Skullcandy Titians are the best sounding ear buds I ever have. The price is $39.99 from best buy, I will also purchase the skullcandy fix for $49.99. But the Titians are sound quality is amazing for the price the high and mids are clear. The bass is clean with extra thumping, this combine with poweramp in the google play store is the best!!!!!

Thanks iceman64, I'm after some better headphones/ear buds I shack check the Skullcandy ones out, they sound (no pun intended) ideal.

I'll get some tomorrow (it's 10pm here) as I need some new ones after my daughter vacuumed my Samsung ones (my fault they were trailing off the sofa arm :() and let you know ScandaLeX.

All in-line wired remotes designed for iDevice will work with Note 3 to play/pause/call, double-click to change the track, and long press to start Google NOW. You can use built-in mic to make calls. The only thing that will not work is volume up/down buttons. Those are specific to apple. The only company that so far announced official Samsung compatible headset is Sennheiser, but these headphones are not available yet. I will have a review sample right before the release to share with everybody.

You can check out my massive list where I have reviewed hundreds of different accessories, including dozens of headphones: http://androidforums.com/android-accessories/796475-twister-reviews-android-accessories-gadgets.html

If you want full control, you need to go wireless for a full compatibility with your phone. BlueBuds X are OK, but overpriced, and I would highly recommend BackBeat Go2 - much better sound quality, a lot cheaper, and comes with a charger case.

For wired headphones in your price range, Kiipsch S4A will work, excellent sound quality. Logitech/Ultimate Ears UE600 is excellent, but they are refreshing their entire product line so wait until the new models will be revealed soon. If you want to dip your feet into budget audiophile world, Shure SE215 is an excellent choice and it comes with removable/replaceable cables. A few ebay vendors make replacement cables with full Samsung Galaxy remote control including volume (I reviewed those cables in my UE900 write-up). MEElectronics A151P with in-line remote will blow you away with sound quality and available on Amazon for $50 now: Amazon.com : MEElectronics A151P Balanced Armature In-Ear Headphone with Inline Microphone and Remote (Black) : Electronics . But as you know, YMMV since sound quality is very objective thing. I review a lot of audiophile quality headphones in $400-$500 range, but at the same was very impressed by $9 set of AWEI headphones I reviewed here: http://androidforums.com/android-accessories/765018-review-awei-in-ear-headphones-w-lots-pics.html

You have a lot of choices, and it can get overwhelmed. Perhaps the best thing is to go to your local Best Buy or Staples and listen to some of the headphones on the display in there? Otherwise, take your chance and order it on-line. With amazon it always hassle free returns ;)

Good luck!

Thanks ill check them out and thanks for all the replies. So in the end any good earphone with remote will work (except those designed for ios)?

I have a few of those as well. It's a knock-off samsung headphones, obviously for $2.50. Remote works perfectly (multifunction button and volume controls), but sound quality is just "stock". If you just care about controls and being able to hear the music/speech, those will do it. If you care about the quality of the sound, you will have to settle with choices I listed above without volume control. Or you will have to wait until Sennheisier releases their MM30G Galaxy headset: Sennheiser MM 30G - In-Ear Headset for Samsung Galaxy devices - Stereo Sound, good noise attenuation

I meant to ask you before who your carrier is? This is the same thing that happened with the Note 2- some carriers got headphones in their boxes; others didn't.

I have Sprint & there were headphones in the box with my Note 2 & 3. I only like them though for when I'm out- I don't like wearing my huge ears on public transportation.

Did you pick up the Skulls yet?

Not picked up my a skulls yet (day from hell - car broke down, you don't want to know), but I will tomorrow between jobs at work.

By the way... Which Windows programs you guys use to organize your music (artist, album art and lyrics) then be able to sync it into the phone?

I cheked some of them but if i understood you correctly. the only headphones that give me full remote functions are the Sennheiser?

Lg Tone or LG Tone+, I highly recommend. Some people with the Tone Plus had mentioned having issues w/ connection, so go for the regular Tone's.

I personally use the Sony MW1, for my daily driver (while at work). What's great is that, I can see my text messages and gmail (emails), as well as facebook and twitter notifications. The #1 reason I like it is being able to use any 3.5mm headset I want. Although, as far as recommending them, I'd only recommend if on sale. Othewise, they are a little overprice/pricey. Even better, you can stick an independent 32gb microSD in, to act as a stand alone mp3. I haven't done that yet, since I haven't purchased a 32gb card (all the ones I have are 64), but I might do that in order to load up more tracks, when I don't want to listen to songs on my phone.

There are other similar bluetooth adapters that work similar to the Sony MW1, and all with the capability of using any 3.5mm headset one desires.

Thanks for that info Twister, any idea what the Sennheisier earbuds are going to run? I've looked around a little and can't seem to find a price or even a rumored price.
I use my Shure SE110's 80% of the time and the Beats over the ear, when I want a fuller sound, but I'd really like the option of have phone controls with a decent sound quality in an earbud.

Here in the UK they are on pre order for 16th February on Amazon at

I've been underwhelmed with Sennheisier. For the price there is so much better.

I have just bought a pair of nocs. Need a little cord clip as the flat cord needs holding in place. Really please with them. Fit isn't amazing (for me) but sound is excellent.

bonerp, where did you buy the Sennheisiers (in the UK that is)?
I picked up the Skull Candies today. Not had much test, Just one track so far (Don't Fear The Reaper - The Blue

bonerp,

Are you referring to the Sennheiser MM30G or Sennheiser MM30i ? Because the "G"s aren't available from Amazon UK until the 16th February.

I know they are probably going to be the same ear buds, with the newer "G"s being the ones being completely compatible with Samsung galaxy devices, but I have learned from past mistakes regarding things that were meant to be the same but aren't audio wise.

Back in the late '80s I bought a Philips CD471 CD player rather than a Phillips CD473 CD player. They looked identical. The CD473 came with remote control and I'd listened to it. I bought the slightly cheaper CD471 without a listen - grievous error, it also had an older chipset and sounded much worse than the CD473.
