Good keyboard without annoying Autoformating

Here's my current problem: I'm using the TouchPal keyboard and for the most part I really like it. Unfortunately the horrible autoformatting that can't be personalized is killing me. Does anyone know of ANY keyboard out there that allows you to pick and choose the autoformatting?

Things TouchPal does that annoy the crap out of me:

Auto-corrects U and O into I, and S into A if only one letter is typed.
Puts a space after periods, makes an ellipsis look like I had finger convulsions.
Removes a preceding space if I type a parenthesis.
Doesn't remember Capitalization in words I add to my custom dictionary (my job has a lot of acronyms that get confusing if not capitalized).

I'm probably not remembering the entire list. I know I can turn off ALL formatting/spellcheck features but I want it to correct words and such, I just want to be able to choose which features I want enabled and which ones I don't.

Does anyone know a keyboard that will fulfill my needs?

(As an aside my default HTC keyboard was making me insane before I realized what it was doing, if I typed a letter quickly followed by the Numberpad key it would instead assume I typed an M. Again this feature is not optional and very aggravating given my job as I often type lists that include locations that are alphanumeric.)

There are many keyboards that you can try. There is Flex t9, thumb keyboard, slide it, gokeyboard and many others. I recommend flex t9.

I just started with Gingerbread Keyboard today and am liking it so far.
My previous fave was Big Buttons Keyboard.
Tried Message Ease. Interesting concept but didn't want to invest the time in learning a whole new way of keying.

I second Gingerbread Keyboard, especially for those of us who like to add custom words. I've had much better typing accuracy on this keyboard, as well. :)

I've found stock Gingerbread to be the best keyboard out there (and I've tried the HTC keyboard, Swype, and all those supposedly "better" ones). You can selectively disable autocorrect, but the autosuggest is perfect.

Most keyboards will allow you to turn that feature off. All of the one's i've tried at least.

I've used stock/HTC/SwiftKey/SlideIt/GO keyboard

GO is my fave so far

IMO, Ultra keyboard probably has the most options for formatting. Multiple options for what you can turn on/off, blacklist/ignore lists you can create so words won't get autocorrected, etc. Check it out.

Another vote for the Gingerbread keyboard.

Only had my SGS2 a week (ex iPhone user) and hated the on board KB.

Gingerbread much more user-friendly and accurate.
