Good notepad app?

Im Looking for a free notepad app that I can compose something, save it then later copy and paste it on the web. Can someone suggest a free app that does this? Oh one that wont take a ton of memory too please.

I have been using Text Edit for a while and it's never failed me. It lets you specify where you want to save files, change font size and color, background color, has a recent files list, email as attachment, and lots more options. And best of all, it's free.

If that doesn't work, you can try Evernote. It is a note app that allows for text, checklists, voice and photo notes. It synchronizes with your evernote account online automatically - no need to cut and paste.

I'd like o find a note app that would voice-to-text what someone is telling me over the phone, such as a long complicated confirmation number. Many times I just don't have a pen and paper.

Not "voice-to-text", but Note Everything has "Voice Notes". In addition it has Paintnote, Photonote, checklist, Gallerynote, and Videonote.

IF you're saving text files with the Text Edit app, you can simply open them with the same app:

1. Launch Text Edit
2. tap the menu icon (I'm not sure where the menu would be on older versions of android)
3. Choose "Open" at the lower left of the menu
4. Tap the "Browser" button in the middle of the Open File dialog
5. Find your text file (there are navigation buttons at the top of the file browser)
6. Open the text file and do what you need to with it.

The file browser component of Text Edit is invaluable.

I also recommend you install a file manager from the Google Play Store. You may not need it often but once you need it you'll be glad you have one. I have used Astro file manager and ES File Explorer and both are outstanding. IF you're rooted, I recommend Root Explorer.

EDIT...
whoops...
like the rest of my life....
I look before I leap...
