Good power saving app for Marshmallow?

Hi everybody,
I am looking for an app that would turn off internet connection when the screen is locked. Formerly, I was using Juice Defender but, starting from Lollipop, it does not do the job. Then I found 2 Battery. It worked fine on Lollipop but after I upgraded my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact to Marshmallow it can't do that anymore (it pretends to cut down the internet but the connection remains on when the screen is locked).
Is there any other application worth trying?

I want to turn off mobile data. Both Juice Defender and 2 Battery did it perfectly but only up to a certain version of Android. On Marshmallow neither of them can do that.

If I'm not mistaken, Android Lollipop took away the possibility for 3rd party apps to turn off mobile data...

Yes, but 2 Battery found a workaround for that. I don't know what changed in Marshmallow but that workaround does not help anymore

You could try Tasker, but it may not work unless you're rooted.

I'm guessing Stamina Mode no longer works on Marshmallow as it would conflict with Doze?

It's still present but has been modified to prevent conflicts with Doze. It still restricts background data but the ability to whitelist apps has been removed.

Afaik, you cannot turn data on or off with an app without a rooted device anymore (since lollipop).

Macrodroid is an easy way to handle the wifi (and data if rooted) on and off with the screen.

Yes, but non rooted apps cannot enable/disable airplane mode.
