Good SMS program with popup

I've tried Hancent, didn't care for it or Chomp. I was using Pansi SMS but it really drained my battery. I like the stock messaging app but I want something that will popup when I get a message. Is there anything else compatible with ICS?

How about Go SMS Pro? I'm a big fan of all of the Go products, actually. They work well, are updated frequently, have plenty of options, and don't hog resources.

Edit: tube517 beat me to it.

I tried GO SMS pro in the past but haven't tried it for awhile. How is it on battery?

Just read some really bad reviews about it after a recent update

im sticking with stock for now for the same reason bull said. I also like how you get the notification on the lock screen with the stock app. With my old htc running cm7, i felt the need for a better sms app, but the stock one really seems to be more than acceptable for now

I'm having a problem with my galaxy. For some reason. When I use the stock sms or even go sms I will have multiple threads from the same person with 2 or 3 messages in it. Anyone know how to fix this problem.

Same problem as you, I got it only wit handcent sms

SMS Popup, if I remember correctly, basically just adds popup functionality to the stock messaging app. It's been a long time since I tried it, so I may be remembering it incorrectly.

I use Handcent SMS and have never looked back.

I usually just use the stock app but I am thinking about DL'ing an app because the Auto spell is absolutely garbage with the stock, the thing is a pain in the butt and was never like this with my other droids. Any way to turn it off?

Auto spell really shouldn't have anything to do with the messenger app. Rather the keyboard I personally use jellybean keyboard by bean soft. Love it. Lags with handcent but works perfect with gosms

ive been using swiftkey 3 and the autocorrect is pretty top notch. I almost have to try to spell a word wrong. I do however agree that the stock keyboard leaves a lot to be desired. might have to have a peek at jellybean keyboard
