Apps Good tutorials?

Jorem

Lurker
Hi,

I've been developing websites the past 15 years and know my way around html, css, php and javascript. However, I've never made an Android app.

Downloaded the ADT bundle (including Eclipse and sdk) and have started drilling through Getting Started | Android Developers

But I'm pretty impatient.

Are there any faster/better tutorials out there for someone who has my background?

I am in exactly the same situation as you, with the same backgorund. It is obvious very quickly that the promise of mobile games and applications with our skillset is a load of huey.

Anyway, I am just starting in on the Android Development for Beginners videos by Derek Banas:

The first video moved at a good clip, and the number of watches and likes they have received is promising. I will watch this thread for other recomendations, too.

Hi Jorem,
I am new to Android development too. So i think it depends on what you need. I think the best way to learn is to have a goal/vision or what ever. You just need to build one app from start to the end and you will know most of the stuff. During this you will collect much experience and will be able to do your own tutorial for the begginers :D
