Goodbye Apple, Hello Android gang!

Hi everyone

I'm a math teacher who switched from the Iphone 3gs to this sweet new Evo 4g 3D phone. Although I could care less about the 3d aspects, I decided to try out this new device and see what the Android is all about. Don't get me wrong, it was hard to make the new adjustment (especially since my car stereo was made specifically for my iphone) and I need to be completely satisfied in order to stay with Android for good.

Music is very important for me and so far I am meh about the music player this Android has. Like I said, its been less than a week and I am sure I will find the perks and shortcuts to its music player. Some helpful tips would be great.

i would definitely like to hear from former iphone users and hear how they dealt with the change, what do they miss, and the advantages to their change (Besides the phone bill since I am saving a whopping $20 a month).

My current pros:
-Camera is amazing
-GPS (Im a newb to all of this and I found it fascinating to get driving directions lol)
- Supports Flash
- Size of screen
- When phone is locked, you can jump into an app when unlocking
- Friend Stream
- When I make a phone call, it shows me their current facebook status (that's neat-o)
= Quick settings by flickering from top screen
- The apps I paid on the iphone are free here!

My current cons:
-Words With Friends (I wish they had a paid version since I am hating the ads and I play this game frequently)
-Boggle (Another one of my favorite games, but the Android version is garbage and too easy).
- Not as easy as an iphone (but I am sure that will change as I get used to this device).
- Miss my podcasts :(

I'm sure I will adjust. Yes I am bitching over the games, but I really really love Boggle!

Welcome to Android Forums! I'm a former Iphone 4 user and have proved myself upset with the software of iOS with it's lack of customizability, lack of notifications, sub-par hardware and others. Ever since I ditched the iPhone I've been happy with my Thunderbolt. The story upfront is this, you will come across bugs with Android as you will with other phones but Android is the top leading software to this day and I couldn't agree more. The parts of iOS I miss are the games such as Infinity Blade yet there are many more free games here on Android such as Angry Birds. I also miss the universality of the apple products being able to transfer movies to my phone, yet with HTC Watch, you can buy movies and back them up with your google account so that If you get a new phone...all you would have to do is sign in to reach all of your content! let me know what you think of Android more and more as you go along delving deeper into the software as I've found things today about Android that I hadn't know before. The Evo 3D is a major step but congrats and welcome!

Welcome to Android Forums. Here is a link to the sub forum for your new phone. It is in there that you will find the best support and tricks and tips from other users of your device. HTC EVO 3D - Android Forums You might also want to check into Android Lounge - Android Forums , an area where general android discussions take place. I hope your migration to an android device is smooth and you enjoy the device as well as these forums.

It's all a matter of perspective. Baking bread is not as easy as brain surgury ... to a brain surgeon. Juggling is not as easy as quantum physics ... to Einstein. Anything anyone is familiar with is going to initially seem easier. Totally understandable, but I wouldn't put increasing one's knowledge and experience under a "con" section, even if it is a bit difficult.

I am not sure why you are missing your podcasts. You can have them too.
