Starwind Amada
Lurker
After two years of suffering with a Blackberry Curve, I finally became eligible for an upgrade and today picked up a Droid X from Verizon. So far... I'm amazed at how awesome this thing is.
A while back I wanted an iPhone really bad but couldn't afford it (and they were still only AT&T at the time). But now I hate Apple products and there are comparable smartphones out there (like what I just got). Coming from a Blackberry (which suffered from numerous lockups, lag and long restart times), I'm having tons of fun with this phone. Angry Birds (which I thought was just some stupid casual game for bored housewives) is actually very addicting and the Internet browser is fantastic (try surfing the web on a Blackberry, it sucks). Pictures and video are excellent in HD (can't believe we already have the technology to support 720p on phones these days). Oh yeah, and YouTube in my pocket. YES. This phone will be perfect for the convention I'm going to in a few weeks (lots of long waits).
It's been fun,* but it's time to shut down the Blackberry for good. It has now joined the desk drawer of obsolete phones (with an LG Razr and another old flip phone that doesn't even have online capabilities).
*Actually, it hasn't been fun. It has sucked very much.
