Goodbye for now..

G.Armour

You know you want to.
Well, I've had fun on these forums, met alot of kool people and learned alot about Android, but alot of it was from tapatalk and it has been permantly disabled from here and at the moment there is no replacement. I don't have the luxury of jumping on my computer all the time to get on here and the my Droids browser is not bad, but compared to the ease of access I'm used to, it's like pulling teeth. So I guess I'm just gonna become an every so often Lurker until tapatalk is allowed back or the Android forums app comes out.. Well that's about it, hope you all are having a wonderful night/day/week/month/ or year, whichever applies to you....

You guys did take note of the paragraph in Phases' post about the Tapatalk replacement they're working on, didn't you..

"Instead of Tapatalk we are going to focus our efforts on our new Phandroid app - which is to include complete support for AF! We've been working on this for some time now and hope to have the finished product available before the end of August."

OMG! Please don't go! We'll all miss you so much! But I don't blame you for going after all the #$%@^%! that's been going down with no Tapatalk. You have my email, right? I'll contact you and you can tell me everything that has happened. It's going to be so different without you on the forum.......

Live long and prosper.

the exploit has been fixed and the phandroid app isnt out yet... why take away to push a product that isnt even available yet? why pull what is a great app and a great way for people to browse the site on the go when you havent allowed a replacement yet, esp when the so called we are pulling support for this because its bad has already been fixed and probably didnt really impact many people to begin with? i dunno, it all seems pretty apple to me. this forum is why i got tapatalk pro and now its telling me i cant use it because of an exploit that was fixed but dont worry because we have our own app coming out thats probably less than a month and a half away just doesnt sit right. :(

Tapatalk is making or breaking your usage here?

To me, this place is over the top beneficial to users of Android products, a great, thriving, dynamic community and run by people doing their very best for us.

Tapatalk may or may not make a come back here, but even if it's replaced by a custom version of that type of forum utility it is a small price to pay for what AF gives us on a daily basis.

Tapatalk has released several patches this past week, including one today to resolve the security issues. There really remains no excuse not to have it, other than greed i guess. Use ours (in 2 months) or use nothing at all! Who knows also if this new app will cost us another 3 dollars, if so i hope its included with us premium members (donators)

So long as the Phandroid App is free who cares. Its worth the wait, I personally couldn't see the point in buying an app for what the browser does for free.

Actually I would suggest using our mobile skin which you can find on the very bottom of the forums index page until the official Phandroid app comes out.

flo that mobile skin is a huge pain in the azzz, compared to how easy it is on tapatalk. but hey we have no choice. luckily my nexus runs the reg skin without problems

I guess it's easy for me to say since I've never tried Tapatalk. Hang in there guys, the Phandroid app will be here soon hopefully.

I tried the skin on my EVO and it's speedy enough for me, much better than the regular skin :D

Kind of getting tired of EVERY forum/site I visit developing their OWN app, thus taking up precious screen space in my app drawer, and precious memory.

Why not just use tapatalk now that the security concerns have been resolved?

Money. AF can't advertise on tapatalk so that means it's gotta go.

-Not that I object to people making their money, but the true motivations must be outed =P

Yeah, those pesky admins here need to be outed as to their true motivations.

Listen, folks; this is the first forum of this size where I've seen the administrators and the owner come into the threads and explain their "true motivations" in various issues that have come along just in the short time I've been here.

I understand the queries about Tapatalk, but what I don't understand is the attitude of distrust toward those running this place.

You're going to keep doing that, no request or explanation is going to stop you from expressing your indignation and suspicions about motivations over this loss of Tapatalk here. But it is getting old, and it's in more than one thread and more and more users here are piling on.

Up to now, have any of you with this huge concern PMed your admin of choice about your concerns?

I ain't got any problems with the admin, and I honestly don't think they have any kind of hidden agenda. But, since the problem with Tapatalk has been resolved, why not allow it to work again? Or, since most of us here are used to experimenting with new roms and alot of things that are still in beta, why not post up the beta for the phandroid app? I'm sure that would solve alot of issues.

There are questions in your post there, G.Armour, that could be sent via PM to Phases or any other admin of your choice, or to all of them at once.

But more importantly, why sew seeds of negativity about the AF operators at all? Why jump to conclusions about profit motives, etc?

Um ok Frisco, please tell me where I have jumped to conclusions or sewed any seeds of negativity about this place.. I haven't .. This is still my favorite forum, but I just wish it was easier to get on here now.. Oh and I tried the mobile skin.. I think it's worse than the normal skin on my Droid browser, I don't like the way you navigate with it..
