Help Google Account problem on Asus Transformer

Hello everybody,

I have a brand new TF-101 with Honeycomb, the tablet is awesome but there's a big problem. It seems that to use any Google service (Market, Mail etc...) you have to be signed in with a Google account, unfortunately the tablet refuses to cooperate and shows a message error. Either with the sign in or with the create account it doesn't allow to continue due to a server error. Other internet services, e.g. the browser, work correctly. I tried many times but always the same, somebody experienced the same problem? Thank you very much :)

Try restarting, and making sure you have a good wifi connection.

Mine loaded and sync'd without any problems.

I had a similar problem when I first got my Transformer. For me, the issue was two-factor authentication. I had it enabled for my Google account and the tablet didn't recognize it. When I turned off two-factor authentication for my account, I had no problem logging in to my Google account. Hope this helps with your problem.

I love being able to sync everything simply by logging into Google, but the inability to use two-factor authentication is a real miss for me. This security feaure is really being pushed by Google; I would have thought enabling this feature across all platforms would have been pretty basic, but not so much...I hope it is enabled in a future update. :(

Edit: I did find a workaround and am now able to use two-factor authentication. Google generates a specific password for devices (like the Asus tablet) that don't recognize two factor authentication. It's a long, nonsensical password but only has to be entered once for each google account (unless you have to do a hard reset for some reason). So, all is well. However, I still think that Honeycomb devices should be able to recognize two factor authentication straight up without creating an exemption. Back to my Trans!

There are instructions on how to do the two factor authentication if you google for "
How to fix the two-factor authentication log-in error in Gmail on Android"

I can't post links yet :(
