Google+ and battery life

Has anyone noticed a decrease in battery life since installing g+? I thought it was just my phone until my girlfreind put it on hers and her battery went from about a day and a half with very light use to less than half a day with no use. Instant upload, notifications, and account sync was turned off.

Have not noticed any decrease in battery life since using it.

HackerJeff (I refuse to bother typing in leet speak), did you actually look at the battery usage screen and confirm that Google+ app is listed as using a significant percentage? Or is your evidence strictly anecdotal?

I also haven't seen any change in battery life, and I've never seen Google + listed on my battery usage screen, which means it's using too little (percentage wise) to register on the list.

My N1 battery life has dropped off a cliff since I installed G+. The battery usage page doesn't show G+ at all, but the biggest user is now 'Android OS' which I suspect is G+ in disguise.

G+ showed 2% usage with notifications. Turned off notifications and its not registering anymore.

ok so an update on my original post. since posting i switched from teamchickeneaters rom to the updated sense rom. i have notifications turned off and at the end of the day i still have around 60% or so of battery life. so im really not sure what was going on. Google updated the app since then too ( i think) BUT a few of my friends are still having a battery issue since installing so im not crazy lol! still wondering tho if anyone else i having problems.

I've experienced my battery life being reduced about the time I installed the Google+ app. Then a few days ago, I accidently ran my task killer. After that, my battery life returned to normal.

I'm not sure if it had anything to do with Google+ or some other app. It does appear that some rogue task may have been eatin up my battery life. I recall that it happened around the time I installed Google+, so it appeared to be Google+ that caused the quick drain on my battery. It was pretty bad. I wake up to a fully charged phone. I drive to work and I already lost a bar. Then I turn my phone off as I don't have it on while I'm at work. I turn it on after work and it lost 2 bars. I'm pretty sure that I didn't install anything other than Google+ at the time. The battery drain continued even though I did a restart of the phone.

The only thing that fixed it was running the task killer. I was playing around with my home screens and decided to see what the task killer widget does. It was just an icon. I tapped on it thinking it would bring up the app. Instead, it started killing all of my tasks. I then remove the widget. The next day, I noticed my battery lasts longer again, like it did before installing Google+. It's been fine for the past few days since I ran the task killer.

OG Droid, no battery issue.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Google+ act the same way as Gmail (That is to say through Push Notifications?)?

In this manner the program doesn't reach out to the server to get updates or emails, it gets pushed the emails/updates when they are sent, this doesn't cause any significant drain on the battery, contrary to how Facebook works.

To be honest I wish Facebook worked this way on the Droid, I would have notifications enabled...
