Google Android 2.0 Source code released!

Well how embarrassing would that be for Sprint, huh? And how smart of HTC, release the code knowing full well it will wind up on the hardware regardless of the carrier's intention or diligence. Only reason I haven't rooted mine yet is to await the official 2.0, but if a nodded or cooked version comes out I might lose my patience. Well, interesting news indeed.

I've got news for you, my friend: HTC didn't release the code. Google did.

Any chance of a rom for our Sprint Hero? I'm sure it will be a while before an official version, but how about a cooked ROM?

The ROM image will most likely come from Sprint since they are the final "arbiter" of its content for the Sprint Hero. I think it would be some time AFTER the expected upgrades and fixes before we will see a "clean" ROM image .... unless something gets leaked out, but then you are taking your chances then. My guess is we will see various enhanced ROMs after the Sprint Hero is relatively bug-free, for all intents and purposes.
