Google Authenticator App drains battery or not?

I just installed the Google Authenticator for the 2-step login verification for my Gmail account.

Since this generates the PIN codes every 30 seconds, will my batteries drain faster than normally?

I dont use wny wifi or any bluetooth at all. I only use my phone for SMS and making calls.

When it will ask you for pin code, then you need to opt for it so that it can run which may consume your battery. For every mail coming to your gmail will drain some battery from your phone.
