Google Calendar Does Not Syc

casey1958

Newbie
I have an Acer Iconia tablet and I have set up the tablet calendar app with my Google account details. When I look at my Google calendar on my PC there are lots of events shown but when a do the same on my tablet there are no events shown. I thought it would be easy to sync these two calendars. I would appreciate any help in resolving this problem.

Hi casey1958. Welcome to AF. For the best help in the matter you need to check out the help/discussion area we have for your Iconia tab. I would gladly move your thread into that area but unfortunately there are a number of different Iconia tablets and I don't know which you own. Follow the link below and give your tablet name a click to join the area for your tablet or let us know.. and we'll get you over to the right area for the support you seek. Have fun....

Click the physical menu/settings button.
Select Settings.
Select Accounts & Sync settings
Make sure that "Background data" and "Auto-sync" are checked.
Click on your gmail account.
Make sure that "Sync Calendar" is checked.

Many thanks for responding - sorry for the delay in responding. I have an Acer Iconia B1 tablet running Android version 4.1.2. I have looked at RazzMaTazz's suggestion but that does not appear to apply directly to my tablet. However, I did find my Google account settings but they only list Maps & Latitude, Search, Location Settings, Google+ and Ads as settings - I can't find "Backgound data", "Auto-sync or "Sync Calendar".

I am happy for olbriar to transfer this thread to the correct forum if that would help.

Make sure that you are using the correct calendar to sync with. There will be a"my calendar " and a" Google.com calendar"

And possibly other calendars available as well.. Just make sure you are using the same one between devices.

My Google account sign-in (******@gmail.com) is the same for both my tablet and on-line. When I sign into my account on line it shows only one Google calendar and also there is only one Google account on the tablet. Hence as far as I can tell I only have one Google calendar. Surprisingly, my tablet states that my Google calendar has been synchronized and yet it contains no entries. I am at a loss to fix the problem and would appreciate any further help. Should I delete the calendars on both the tablet and on-line and start again? If so, how do I go about doing this?

Something similar happened to me once. I ended up doing Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Calendar Storage > Clear Data. Then it had to start over and all was well. But I’m using 2.3.3, everything could be different now.

Many thanks to you all for your help. In the end jefboyardee's suggestion worked. I cleared the data and when I returned to the calender app it showed my on-line calendar events. I expected to have to set up my calendar app again but that was not the necessary. Don't ask me why clearing data made the app work - it does not make sense.
