Google Calendar Only Syncing One-Way

Maybe I've misunderstood the purpose of syncing. When I add events to my Google Calendar on my PC (my preferred method of input as I get to use a half-decent keyboard), my phone's calendar reflects the changes, either when the regular sync takes place or by refreshing.

However, if I add any new events via the phone, whilst they stay (unless I delete them again), they never appear on my Google Calendar on my PC however long I wait. Is this how it's supposed to be? The web-site isn't much use in giving any guidance.

My phone is Galaxy s2 running 4.1.2 (i9100XXLS8)

It's supposed to work both ways. Are you certain that you are adding things to your google calendar on your phone? Check and make sure there isn't a 'phone calendar' as well as a google calendar (both run out of the same app) On my phone (Galaxy Note II) When I go to add an event it lists the calender that I am adding it to. One of the choices is "My Calendar". Another choice is my google account.

Check that the Calendar you are viewing on the web interface of Google Calendar is the same Calendar you created or appended in Google Calendar on your Android device, and also make sure that you have the appropriate Google Calendars activated for viewing on the left side of the screen in the web interface of Google Calendar.

Normal behavior for Android is for Google Calendars and Google Calendar Events to sync to the Web interface, which happens for me and is also why there is an option to tick "Sync Calendar" in the settings of your phone in the "Accounts" section. Check if that option is verified on.

Many thanks to both of you. This was the first time that I'd had occasion to create an event on the phone, rather than on the PC, and I hadn't spotted the difference between the 'My Calendar' and 'mygoogleaccount@gmail.com' choices when creating the event. Once I'd done that, the change was reflected back at my PC almost immediately.

I had the opposite problem. Suddenly, yesterday, I could enter an event in the Android calendar and it would sync to Google (I had the Google calendar checked to sync, in Accounts), but when I entered an event in the Google calendar on my laptop, it would not sync. I tried a lot of things. What apparently worked was the following, under SYSTEM SETTINGS: Restrict background data = unchecked; autosync data = checked; show Wi-Fi settings = checked.
