Just a minor issue, but I was wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to tell the thing to stop giving me notifications about sports events. I've looked into all settings menus I've been able to find, to no avail.

IS this Google Now or Google Calendar? I actually had to find a sports caldav calendar to be able to get any notifications of this type, until Google Now came along

Turning them off in Google Now or turning Google Now off completely should do it.
Open Google Now (Swipe up from the home button), then scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit the magic wand thing and you should be able to turn off notifications for sporting stuff.

Indeed it did, but all I it showed me was a button for adding a team and below it a bar that reads 'Interested In' that highlights when I touch it, but doesn't actually do anything (at least not without first adding a team). I still haven't found a way to tell it I don't care for sports.
