Google calendar sometimes doesn't sync when editing existing items

CharlesLewis

Most of the time, the sync between my desktop Safari calendar and my Android phone works perfectly, but sometimes not. For example, yesterday on my Droid X, I changed an all-day item that covered several days to a one-day timed item. When I opened the calendar on my computer, no change had been made. I re-booted the phone and re-loaded the page on Safari, but no change. I then modified the item on my computer but changed the ending time on the event to see if it would sync the other way. Again, no change, even after re-loading the page and re-booting the phone.

Is this a bug in Calendar or am I somehow doing something wrong?

In the main 'Settings' menu for your phone, select 'Accounts and Sync' and make sure that you have 'Auto sync' ticked and that your calendar is also ticked.

That's the first place to look.

Under settings, I don't have "Accounts and Sync," just "Accounts." There I find my google account. When I open that, I can manually sync the various options. When I select Calendar, it syncs correctly, so the sync is working.

But I don't find the "Auto Sync" option, and I know that must be a setting somewhere. I'm running Android 2.3.3 on a Droid X with Go Launcher EX if that helps. (I am also having a problem with Gmail not automatically syncing and I was able to manually sync using the same section under Accounts, so somehow the automatic sync has obviously been turned off.)

Sorry but I can't help. It's clear now though that there is no problem syncing, so we're halfway there! All you now need to do is to find how to turn on the auto-sync feature. If you can't find it by working your way through the menus perhaps you could post the question on the forum for your particular phone?

Good luck.

I installed "Free Power Widget" and it has an "Auto Sync" option. Clicking on that seems to have solved the problem.

I'm sure the option is also somewhere under settings, but I have checked everywhere I think logical (and some not so) and I haven't been able to find it. At least I have a solution, though.

Thanks for those who offered their ideas.
