Root Google Calendar Will Not Sync (Jorte or Business Calendar)

Android Expert
Hello...

Problem that has reared its head all of a sudden...my calendar apps (Jorte and Business Calendar) on my evo won't sync with my online Google calendar. I am certain that my Google calendar online is not the problem because I have a 2nd phone (Nexus S 4G) linked to the SAME gmail account as my EVO and that syncs with NO problem.

This issue was brought up in a previous post, however, the "solution" that was mentioned as a possible fix suggested syncing via your computer/USB and there was no follow-up/explanation how to do so...

First, MOST IMPORTANTLY for me, is the fact that my USB charging/data port on my EVO is DEAD...so I wouldn't be able to sync via USB is I wanted to. Secondly, with this issue coming up "all of a sudden" I should NOT HAVE TO SYNC via USB!! So there has to be another solution....???

I wiped cache and dalvik...no luck. I followed MY OWN THREAD ADVICE in wiping data in GMail and Calendar Storage at Home —> Menu —> Settings —> Applications —> Storage use...nothing.

Any thoughts why this is happening??...:confused: It is rather annoying...and I function of the phone that I ABSOLUTELY NEED to work!!:mad:

THANKS!!

Having a similar problem. Phone calendar items will not update/sync with online calendar. When I go into 'Accounts and Sync' and uncheck and then check again the Calendar Sync item in the account, the "sync wheel" that spins while it's working will stall/lock up. I've shut down, pulled battery, restarted and still does the same.

Out of curiosity, do you use Google Apps Sync to sync Outlook? I've got two different users, both with identical Evo's, both on Android 2.3.5, one has calendar that doesn't sync, one that has contacts that sync haphazardly between phone and Outlook so neither have the same - both using Google Apps Sync. Trying to find a common thread, but can't to this point.

I had a similar problem, but on a Froyo Evo. Couldn't find a solution either and the constant need to clear data on the calendar storage and then resync got old. It eventually got worse (a bit of framework FCs) so I flashed on a new ROM. MikG Evo seems to be fine but it's fresh so who knows how long it will last.

My friend had this issue... And he discovered that he was simply out of memory. He deleted some rarely/unused applications and voila!; it started syning immediately. Hope this helps. (I posted this to the other thread as well.)

Interesting thanks...but with my situation, I don't think I have a memory issue. I have a2sd and have about 1.5 GB of space available :D

Hmmm....

And lately, for some reason, my sync has been OK. I wiped cache and dalvik and the gmail/calendar data enough times that perhaps it is stuck working now!!

bit late for a reply but if it helps anyone else. This happened a lot recently o my htc (desire) device. The problem was not enough memory to carry out the sync. Got transferred back and forth from vodafone and tackling numerous "take battery out, take sim out, disable wifi " scenarios.. The guy at HTC suggested I reset to factory defaults but suggested downloadig sms backup first. As a last resort I went into settings / manage applications and copied all the apps to SD. At least the ones that could be copied. Instant sync without pressing sync buttion. Hope it helps.
