Sorry if this was not worth making a thread for but i was wondering how safe it is to use google checkout to buy games and apps in the adnroid market. I amd a little unsure because they register the card instead of you just typing the ifno in every time. I dont have a credit card i use a debit card. I dont want to get random charges to my bank account. Also do you put in your password every time you make a purchase or do you just click purchase and it goes through. Also what are your experinces with google checout in genral. Again sorry for the stupid question any feedback is appreciated.

ive never had any issue with google checkout for about 3 years now (used it when tiger direct started allowing it for purchases.)

if you are really iffy on the security aspect my best advice is to grab a 25$ amex giftcard or something of the sort and add that to the phone instead of your main card.

If you're that concerned then go to walmart and buy a prepaid visa card for $xx.xx, then there's no worry about anything. They won't even know who you are!

I haven't had any random charges at all. The only thing close is that if you buy something from the market that's listed in a foreign currency some banks will charge an international transaction fee. I think it's something around 5% maybe. The last two I got were $0.11 and $0.18 so nothing too big.

No you don't have to put in a password every time. You just hit buy and then it'll take you to a purchase screen and you hit purchase again and it's done! The app will download automatically and install on it's own just like the free ones.

As for experiences, I've had zero trouble with google checkout! It's always worked fine for me! I have heard about purchases hanging up though and sometimes the phone needing a reboot. Haven't heard of double billing or anything. Just have to redo the buy/download.

Thanks for the replies. I have heard some prepaid credit cards can't be used for online purchases. I may be more worried than i should be but i just got a job and bank account not to long ago and dont have to much money in the bank the last thing i need is random charges to my debit card beacuase i bought some games from the android market. :)
