Google Clock alarm no longer works.

Ritmo2k

Lurker
I was using the Google clock so I could set the alarm sound to a Google Play radio playlist. This worked great for some time, however the last update has broke this.

Now, the music starts, but a buzzer kicks in shortly after, and once the music starts, no controls are visible. The only way I can get the music to stop is to reboot?

Anyone know a way to fix this, or another app that can use Google Plat music?

Thanks!

Ugh, please accept my apology, you are both right and the sound selected is from the YouTube Music section.

Even when setting up the alarm now, if I select the YouTube Music section instead of Sounds and tap a song, it won't stop playing?

Find the app in Settings, Apps, Show System.
Take note of the version number. This is important.

Can you uninstall the app, or the updates if it is a system app?
Do so if you are able.

Now locate the app version one earlier than what you just had, and install it.
That should bring the app back to your familiarity.
If not, then try again with an even earlier version.
You will need to uninstall the version you have each time before you can install another.

Hi, I have automatic updates enabled so when I checked the version, it was up to date. I did notice after scouring the net that someone mentioned they had problems if any one of the 4 notification types was disabled, and I had the one for the lock screen disabled.

After enabling it, everything worked as it once did. Could have been a coincidence, but I am glad it is reolved.

Thanks for the guidance!
