Google contacts deletes automatically

hello
guys i have HTC Desire, and i have saved all contacts in google account,
about 250 contacts, it was fine last week i saw i have only 30 contacts, all other deleted even from goole mail, i thinkught i have done some thing wrong,
i had backup and i restored all contacts, 2 days ago again 100 contatcs gone,
so i have question am i doing some thing or is it google or android problem?
if some 1 help me in this ,

i had this randomly happen to me, as well, but it was only with 5 or so contacts, not hundreds. And it only happened to me once or twice. I had to restore the contacts to get them back. I have not seen this problem in a while, though. You should be able to restore up to 30 days.

i am very disappointed,
i thought google is best without any error
but it means its not as good as window phone book, never had problem with it but anyway thanx i hope google will improve it
