Google Drive 1x1 widget for scanning?

UncleMike

The latest update to Google Drive claims to include a 1x1 widget for quick document scanning. But it doesn't appear on the widgets tab of my app drawer on either my Nexus 7 or Moto X. Where do I find it to add to my home screen?

The 1x1 Drive Scan widget shows up under the standard Widgets list on my Nexus 4 (with the Google Experience Launcher).

UncleMike: What version of Android are you running?

I'm running CM11 Feb 10 Nightly with Nova launcher and I, too, am not seeing the 1x1 Scan widget. I switched back to the Google Now launcher and still don't see it. All I seen is Google Drive 4x1 widget, which has a scan option, which is good. I can resize the widget to 1x1 but then I'm left with the 'add' button, which does prompt me with the option to select 'add new scan', but I want perfection! Haha

I load my stock 4.4.2 image tonight and see if I get the 1x1 widget. Oh, also, I'm a Google Apps customer, but that shouldn't matter in this situation.

Installed my stock Android 4.4.2 AMD loaded the stock Google launcher and still no 1x1 widget. I only have the 4x1 widget and a 1x1 Drive shortcut, which allows creating a shortcut to a folder/document.

Finally received the update today - not sure why it took so long (because I'm in Canada? A Google Apps users?)

I have the 1x1 Drive Scan 'shortcut' now. however, I still prefer the 4x1 'widget' because, with the shortcut, I have to choose where every scan will go, unlike the 4x1 widget, which, as soon as pressed, activates the camera and after the scan I am prompted where it should go. This is ideal for me because the location changes every time.

I just noticed the update and now I have the 1x1 Scan & shortcut widget included in the Apps Widget drawer. It wasn't listed before. This is using the Moto G.

After an update to Google Drive, I now have the 1x1 widget as well. But before I started this thread, I looked at the Google Drive app description in the Play Store and it specifically listed the 1x1 widget under "what's new", and the version number listed at the bottom of the description matched the version of the app installed on my device (I wanted to make sure I had the latest version before starting the thread). However, once the update became available to my device, the version number in the description changed.

I suspect that Google's staged rollout mechanism doesn't stage all aspects of an app update, and that in the midst of a staged rollout, the app, description, and "what's new" aren't always in sync. Staged rollouts suck even without this issue, but this makes it much worse.
