Help Google Earth Update

Has anyone else had a problem updating Google Earth today ?

I've tried it twice now and as soon as the download completes and installation starts the phone reboots.

When the phone finally comes back up and running the update is still being notified on Market Place as if nothing has happened.

just out of interest, why do you use earth over google maps?

A good question ...... in fact a VERY good question.

I rarely if ever use Earth, usually Maps.

I think it's the "new phone , stick all the Google apps on it " syndrome.

Earth uninstalled

HUGE amounts of phone memory freed up ......

Thanks guys!:D

I used earth about five times when I first got the phone, just purely to show off. Not used it in months but for some reason (and despite it being 30Mb+!) I can't bring myself to uninstall it... :p

This is quite interesting on the subject of Earth vs Maps

Google Earth and Google Maps are two technologies powered by the Mountain View company which provide almost the same features but in different ways.

While Google Maps is available through the window of your browser, Google Earth is a downloadable application which can be installed on your computer.

However, Google updates the two products every once in a while so they have almost the same functions. Anyway, is there any difference between the two products? Google says yes because Google Earth can provide better photos bundled with improved functionality.

While both Google Earth and Google Maps use satellite imagery to share geographical information, such as the location of a building or driving directions, Google Earth provides a more powerful, interactive user experience and offers more tools for learning about a location.

Thats for PC.

+1 had same prob 3 times then eventualy it updated.as for google earth its handy to map out where i want to cycle through the hills and find trails.....

Still applies whatever though?

Not really, that says that earth is better on PC as it is a downloadable app and therefore can offer a lot more features, but on android earth and maps are both downloadable on offer very similar features, also earth pc is very different to earth on android.
