Google: fix the market!

4 out of 5 times that I try to open the market it "can't get a connection" or such, and it closes again. Either the app or the site sucks. Or both.

High time you fixed it, Google!

My Market has never given me any problems.

Mine has. Sometimes it won't just open. I don't know if it's a market problem or an app problem. What I do is turn off the data and then turn it back on and then try the market again. That's always worked for me.

Are you sure you don't have a bad data connection?
Yes I'm sure I don't have a bad data connection. I'm on at least a dozen different WiFi hotspots a day, and on 3G when there's no WiFi. Market shows the same behavior on all of them. Started about a month ago. Never had it before. So the prob is not the connection.
Hey wasn't there a major upgrade for the market about a month ago?
Are you rooted?
No.

There are some issues with it trying to download all those graphics for the new fancy 3d carousel spinner thing. A quick way to bypass that is to hit [menu] > [my apps]

At least that works for me.

Thanks for your suggestion, Ralphy, but I think Google knows exactly what's going on here.
If you want to let them know there's demand to fix it then submit/escalate/promote issues through the site. Don't assume that they read these forums.

I occasionally have problems with the market giving me that message, but I'm in China and, frankly, my ability to connect to outside sites / services is hindered at times. There is nothing Google can do about that.

Never had a problem with the Market here. Occasionally it will force close if I'm updating a bunch of apps from AppBrain, but otherwise it works fine. But either tell Google directly as has been suggested, or quit complaining to us, we can't do anything about it.

No.

Background Data needs to be ON for the Market to work. So if you have that turned off, you need to turn it on whenever you want to visit the Market, even when you're on wifi.
